Land Use Essay Contest
Topic: ‘What Land Use Means to Me:
My Past, Present, and Future.’
1st Place: $500 Border’s Giftcard
2nd Place: $250 Border’s Giftcard
3rd Place: $100 Border’s Giftcard
1st through 3rd Place will also receive a basket of ‘eco-friendly’ gifts!
Application Process
1. Appoquinimink High School freshman or Middletown High School freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior students must submit a 750 – 1000 word essay.
2. Essays must be typed with one-inch margins, double-spaced using 12-point font, Times New Roman on 8 1/2x 11 inch white paper.
3. Entrant must include the entry form as the cover sheet.
4. Essays should be mailed to MHS FFA at the address below.
5. Winning entrants will be announced at the Appoquinimink Education Fair at Appoquinimink High School on Saturday, May 17, 2008.
Evaluation Criteria
Content: Relationship to topic, logically organized, clarity of message, and expressiveness
Technical Quality: Spelling, grammar, and punctuation
